Small display tank Plumbed to main display?

Has anyone plumped a smaller tank onto thier main display?

I have a sumpless 72 Gal main tank, and was thinking it would be
nice to setup a smaller tank for those few not so reef safe fish.

Seems like it should be simple and would make the smaller tank more stable.

Even it it was just something as simple as running an overflow output to
the main display and using a PH to pump the water back to the smaller tank.

ya lots of people do it and it will make both the smaller tank stabil and the larger tank stable

I'm pretty sure Hendersonracing has it documented how his tanks are plumbed together
