Question

small blue tang not eating

I have just aquired a small blue tang about 1inch long. And i have given him some sea veggies (seaweed) but it doesnt seem like he is eating. He is in my quarantine right now because of the ich factor and because hes way to small to be in my display without me losing him. Any way is it just that he is stressed that he is not eating or could it be something else. Thanks.

Depending on how long you have had him he may still be adjusting. Fish can go a couple of days without eating. I usually give it at least a day before feeding so they can settle down from the move. Try asking the lfs what they were feeding it.

You could try adding some garlic to the seaweed to entice the fish to eat it.

Pretty common for new fish to hold off on eating for a while. One of the things I do with all new fish to help "jump start" them into an eating mode is to feed them some live brine shrimp .. never seen a healthy fish turn down live brine.

well i tried some forumula 2 flake and boy does he love it. He started jetting around and eating. Im so happy. I guess he was just a little picky about what he ate. i tried some brine too, he ate it but dicided to try this stuff seeing as it had more nutritional value.
