Question

Slow growing aggressive corals?


Not really sure if this is the appropriate place for this thread but here it goes....

What are slow growing Corals that can stop the fast growing "overtakers" like GSP, Xenia, and mushrooms in theyre tracks....here are my quesses, please add or edit this list appropriately thanks.

-Blastos
-Favia/Favite
-Torch
-Frogspan

I would assume all lps would help slow the growth of the overtakers, especially longer tentacled varieties. Galaxea may be another good addition.

Hello, i would also reccomend pretty much any lps coral, but i not too sure about the galaxea, although it would help with the other faster growing coral, but it too grows relitivly fast compared to the slower lps corals, don't get me wrong galaxea is great and its sweeper tenticles are long enough to keep a large area compared to the area it normally takes up in check but none the less it grows.

I recently put my caulastrea near some problem mushrooms and its smacking the living hell out of them . It has the plus of growing a bit faster and being a bit hardier than your average LPS.
