Skimmer suggestions?

Hello all! My tank specs are in the other forum but quick spec is 24g bow front tank. I am currently running what I belive is a Berlin Airlift skimmer and while it does work (empty it out a couple times a week), I would like to step up to a better skimmer while still not breaking the bank. 50-100 is the price range that I am hoping to stay within but a little either way will not bother me. I also would like something that does not sit IN the tank, so anything that hangs on the back/side is a plus!

Here are a couple I was looking at, suggestions or recomendations are greatly appreciated!

not sure about the three you listed, but they dont seem like the best bet, it might cost just a little more, but an aqua C remora has a really good reputation, and the coral life super skimmer 65 would also do great as a HOB skimmer. both might be a little out of your price range, but the extra stretch would really be worth the effort.

jeff, to get a qulity skimmer in your price range, start checking some of the used equipment forums, I don't think you will be able to get a good one for less than $100USD new (but I suppose it is possible... )

The remora is great. you may want to look at the remora pro though.

Jeff - the first three skimmers that you linked are probably no better than what you currently have (and I'm being nice to say it like that ). The super skimmer is a pretty decent skimmer, I use one on my 30 gallon tank and I think it's the best skimmer for less than $100. For alittle more, you could get a remora which is about as good (not a huge difference). Big question for you is - if what you got is working OK, why waste money on something "better"? Save your money and upgrade to something that really will make an impact - ro/di filter, more lights (I don't know what you have), more live rock, more corals , etc.

hey - I don't run skimmers and have no problems, the fact you actually have 1 is good enough

True hng, what I have no seems to be doing its job fine. Every couple days the resovoir fills up with some nasty looking water and I empty it out. It is not the most sophisticated looking device and I do not like that it hangs inside my tank. Im not having any problems so I guess I was just looking for something to blow a little money on, but I cured that problem by picking up a couple things at the LFS.
