skimmer need adjusting?

DO you ever adjust your skimmer? it seems like i get the bubbles and gunk to just start to "overflow" into the waste bucket and within a day or so.. the waters level inside the skimmer is no where near the top. what could cause this? Is the water just getting cleaned there for not as much foam is being produced?

If you're producing a dark thick skimmate then you may want to turn it up. I like to wet-skim on my tank, producing a light-med tea consistancy.

yeah thas where i like it too. but i set it there and witin 24 hours it has lowered itself way below the over flow.. as if the return line had beeen lowered...
