Six line wrasse?

I was just wanting some info on the six line wrasse. I saw a little one at the lfs today and it was full of personality. What are its feeding requirements and will it pick on any of my corals. I have a pretty bad flatworm infestation so maybe he can munch on those for awhile. Will I be able to feed it prepared foods or will it only feed on pods and such? Thanks for any info.. The only fish in the tank right now is a royal gramma. My strombus are breeding like crazy, will he bother the baby snails, or any snails for that matter?

Hey Demogarr I added a Sixline to my tank. Also to try to take care of a flat worm problem. The six line I added didnt touch my flat worms and eventually sucumbed to a rougue crab I had at the time. Now this is not to deter you. I have found when it come to adding fish, shrimp or other inhabitants to a tank to take care of algae, worms or other pests, it a real hit and miss thing and it comes down to the individual fish.

They are a neat looking fish thought

We have had and currently have 6 line's. We do agree that they have some great and interesting personality. We see ours pick at the rocks and sand and we see him eat frozen on occasion but he is very fat and healthy. THe only prob ith a 6 line is they tend to eat the pods so you can't get anotherpod eating type of fish. We have some flatworms but they don't seem to change so he might be eating them. HTH

Jon

P.S. our 6 line is one of our favorite fish.

I was not going to buy it to take care of flatworms, just wanted some requirements on keeping them. I didn't want to get a fish like a mandarin that would starve eventually. I was hoping a sixline would take prepared foods.

Hi there Demogarr,

Feeding a six-line shouldn't be a problem for you. Mine will eat anything and everything if given the chance, in fact when it comes to eating he's probably the biggest pig in my tank IMO a really great fish to have. Here's a quick piccie of mine

Regards

Lisa
