Thanks for posting and sharing those pictures with us Simon. That looks and sounds like an awesome setup.

My wife will actually help me with the tanks at times, so I am afraid I would skew the results of your poll.

Heh

My wife DID help mne at one time, until I asked her to come in from the k8tchen while she was baking and said, "could you hold this?"

It was a handful of pulsing Xenia I had scraped off the back glass of a 135 I had up: she doesn't fall for that "Hey-Mel,-com 'ere-for-a-minute,-would-you?" ploy any more... ... I think she threw it from the front tank to the prop system without moving.

Tank is looking good, Simon, I especially like the skimmer setup, what makes the foam in your skimmer?

The Aquamedic T-5000 single skimmer comes with a single OceanRunner 3700. I've left it as is, however have contemplated many times to make it a dual unit (Aquamedic do sell them). What has helped with the protein extraction is the RedSea 200mg/hr Ozone generator. I had to mod the inlet tubing a bit to accomodate the ozone unit. The end result is very dark and thick skimmate.

I have an external pump that drives the skimmer and chiller they are T'ed together. I think it's like a PanWorld 80 or something. I found this kept the water pressure constant for both and it also meant that I didn't return chilled water directly to the tank. Again stabilizing everything. My chiller also liked the extra flow it is getting.
