silicone film on glass
I used to have a division of acylic in my tank using silicone, i've had it removed for a few years but can't get rid of the "film" where the acrylic met the glass of my tank. I've got all the water out now removing sand (stinks!!!). So if anyone has any ideas now is the time.
Thanks.......

To remove the film? A straight razor on the glass.

I agree with the straight razor on the glass,.. it's worked wonders for me. Those stiff scrubbing pad style algae removers also do great for things like this,.. Vinager probably won't help much,.. but it would be good to put on the scrubbing pad if you go that route.

i've used a razor before, found a glass site online that said to buff the milky film off, but didn't say what to use. I don't want to scratch it.
i'll try a scrubing pad if I can find one....LOL

The scrubbing pad should work,.. The razor will too,.. but you'll need to use some elbow grease

I just spend 20 minutes cleaning the silicone off my glass tank where I removed the old acrylic overflow. It works, save some time and just use the razor.
