Should I wait or should I go ... for it?

I can have everything ready to start up my 90g reef tank over the next few weeks. But, I will be gone on vacation the first two weeks in August. After reading the horror stories (vacation nightmares) I am not sure if it is wise to start up, even though I won't have anything but live sand and live rock. Your thoughts please?

That gives you 2 months to cycle out and deal with algae blooms etc, I'd start now and work on getting the tank cycled, adding detrivores and janitors etc, and let it have the time to get established. Rushing into it is always a cause of problems

Ditto what doug said. Start right now and the vaca will force you into at least a 2 month maturing period.
