Should i stay or should i go?

I have one small rock that all it has done is cause problems in my tank, it was the rock that started my hair algae problem in my biocube 6 months ago and i scrub it every week and every week it grows back again. it also has hydroids and only 1 spot where it has nice corraline. It has 5 featherdusters but I hate this rock! any suggestions? I saw it growing hair algae in my new tank and i quickly removed it and stuck it in the sink, scrubbed it and dipped it in fresh water for a minute and its now sitting on my counter. What should i do with the beast rock?!

hmmmm try seeding it in a separate tank so the coraline can grow even more and maybe get rid of hair algae. honestly the center of the rock is most likely the culprit. what would an iodine bath do for it?

but the phosphates would still be in and on the rock so just means hair algae everywhere rather than concentrated.

You could use it for an experiment for me... Give it a 1:1 vinagar bath untill it stops fizzing. Rinse it out really well and put it back in the tank in a high light area. Take before and after pictures of it and keep us posted. I would really like to see what the out come would be.
