Shane's 90 Gal Build Thread

Well I have been in the works of building for a few months now....but progress has been really slow. Now that christmas is over and a new year awaits I am picking up the pace. So I thought I would post a few pics. It is a 90 gal AGA viewable from 3 sides. I currently have a 25 gal with LPS and softies which will be moved over to the 90. Then I plan on slowly getting into the SPS. So here ar the pics.

Frame of the DIY Stand

Put some sides and trim on.

added the hood and wall peice.

I decided to go with a FSB because I HATE the sand storms I got in my 25 when a PH would fall down, or when I moved some rock work around. It was actually really easy to do. I think I could have used a bit more sand and less epoxy though. but it was getting hard to mix.

Here it is fully cured and all seams silly coned.

Well I finally got some pumps and a Skimmer so I was able to get most of my plumbing done this weekend. I bought a Little Giant 4MDQX for the CLS which will supply to small spraybars and two nozzles up top. A Mag 9.5 for a return pump which will also split into 2 nozzles that are plumbed to the middle of the tank.

The skimmer is a DIY replica of a Bullet 1 powered by a mag 12. Everything was used but still in great condition.

Here is a shot of the sump....I need to add the baffles still.

And the CLS pump, (just need to run a hose to the inlet and from the outlet to the tee just above the pumpin the pic.

Here is the plumbing. I have some mods to do though. The upper 2 lines will be removed from the upper BH and plumbed over the top and the suction lines will get plumbed to the upper BH.

And a full tank shot. There will be more rock to come when I tear down my 25.

And from the other side

Thanks guys, yes I have been planning for some time. one mistake thought was not drilling an extra hole for the CLS intake. I may do this yet before getting it wet.

Yeah, me too. I got the idea from Geoff. I was planning on permanently setting some rock in the FSB aswell but then changed my mind. Don't want to limit myself when it comes time to aquascape.
