Seeding Liverock with Boizyme?

So I was wondering... If I had some dry rock, ready to be seeded, could you put it in a small container with some of that bio additive that makes tanks ready to go instantly and basically get that bacteria all over the rock ready to work in the tank?

Would they "adhere" to the rock or would they simply wash away?

Snake oil, actually snake powder but still useless. Nothing will make a tank ready instantly. You can take the money that you would have spent on the Biozyme, wad it up and throw it into the tank. It will help just as much with establishing the rock. Time and patience are the only way to go.

Yup, great advice! Go to the LFS and get a small piece of LR and that will jump start the tank, you can also throw in apiece of raw table shrimp to start things off. After you do that go out and get some duct tape and have someone tape your hands to your butt and sit down for two months! That way you will leave the tank alone and allow it to do its thing! Its the hardest part.

You still have to wait......But I like startup from prodibio. They have a good line of bacterias that will help seed and boost your tanks biological filtration.

yeah, time and patience is the only way. seed the tank with an equal amount of live rock as gallons.. ie 10lbs of live rock from an established tank for 10g tank. this is the rule I used and it worked out fine. go research the tank cycle process and welcome to the hobby

Tell me about it.. I'm starting up with minimal investment...

Ill have to cure my home made rock for over a month alone before it can even go into the tank.

Can the tank cycle without the rock in it? In other words, can I have the tank cycling as my homemade rock cures (as in lets all the high PH leech out in a barrel outside)

Or do I wai ttill the rock is ready to start cycling the tank?
