Sebae Anemone resident...

Which species of clownfish prefers the sebae anemone and does it matter that an anemone crab already lives there? Thanks

Sebae is kinda of a generic name for Heteractics malu or H.crispa. You probably have crispa and it will host Perculas, sometimes Ocellaris, Clarkii and Skunk or the usual symbiotes . As for the crab I dont Know but most probably the fish will chase the crab away or vice versa . Good luck .

If it was me, I'd leave the crab in his home. Is this a porcelin crab? I'd love to have one inhabit our sebae (h.crispa), but already have a cinnamon clown in residence.

This crab is the most extraordinary creature I have ever seen! I'm not sure if it is a porcelain crab or not, but it is small, white, with tiny black spots on the shell. I've actually thought about getting another one as I have seen more than one living in the same anemone. The crab has these two front legs equipped with fans (like a feather duster, sort of). The crab holds these tiny fans up in the water column until a particle of whatever gets caught in them, then eats. It is spectacular. I am still unsure if it is common for both a clownfish and the crab to inhabit the same anemone.

Until now, I was unfamiliar with these crabs as I vowed to not keep anemones at all...and I do not advocate the keeping of anemones...unless you have a mother that impulse shops!!! So, the anemone is in MY tank so it can get proper care (if that's possible). I will do my best, and so far so good...and I LOVE that crab!

Thanks for the responses, anything more about adding a clownfish would be helpful!
