This question is for all of you who have had or currenly have a sebae anemone (hectaris crispa?). I have one, and have had ot for about 6 months or so. It's doing great, so this isn't a help me post, but I have noticed that it is becoming less white, and more brownish. I suspect that this is because the nature of the
symbiotic algae contained within the anemone is changing due to my tank lighting conditions. Shortly after I purchased the anemone it appeared to expell it's algae in a slimy strand, and then proceeded to shrink up like it was gonna die. I relocated it to a location that received more current/light, and in a few days it opened fully, and hasn't shown any signs of less than excellent health since. It eats well, and has a tomato clown to play with. Also, my
coral banded shrimp has taken up residence directly below it (always touching with antennae) and my cleaner shrimp has taken up residence diretly above it (antennae always tapping it). It's a pretty neat scene around the anemone. The only change I've noticed is the gradual brown cast that it has taken on. I seem to remember reading about similar situations in other posts but can't find them
What are your experiences with sebaes? I know...most people haven't had success, but I have kept them in the past for 2+years. Thanks for your input!
