Ant, in one of your other threads you mentioned getting Florida Rics from a guy on EBay.
Things sound and look good Seamore. It is definitely better to have more lights than you need than not enough.

So this morning the water in the FT was cloudy, the corals were showing no poyp extention, I realized the nori I put in yesterday morning did not get eaten yesterday and must have made nori tea. I removed the nori, made note not to do that again! Set the skimmer to skimm wet, by this eve the water has cleared up and the PE is back. Thank goodness for ajustable skimmers. WC mixed and ready for tomorrow.

Glad to hear it was nothing more than a nice little tea brewing.

I'm running 4 of the 2100gph Maximods on my frag tank and they do the job well. One thing I have learned is that by pointing them from the bottom towards the surface at an angle greatly increases the flow throughout the tank. The surface of my frag tank looks like rolling waves going everywhere. This really helps circulate water over the eggcrate without blowing directly on the frags.
BTW, do you like those new plastic grey plugs? I picked up a 100pack because the price was right but after only a few weeks I really dislike them. The acros just did not seem to want to attach to the plastic. The biggest issue I had with them was after a few weeks they were impossible to remove from the rack due to growth underneath them.

I have two maxmods in my 75, it may make more sense to upgrade them and move the MJ's to the FT, thanks for the input Jadinop, stunning tank you have there BTY.
I have only started fragging and using these plugs, I have been filling the base w/some holdfast epoxy and forming a space w/the end of a pen then gluing the frag in. So far so good. As for the growth, what kind of growth are you dealing with? My frag tank has only been up for a month. So I would have to say I don't know as of yet. If you are not going to use them let me know what you would like for them perhaps I'll take them off your hands.

Looking good Seamore! Is that University of Florida Gators etched into the acrylic permanently? I am just curious as it could have a major impact on resale value if it is.

Just to be sure we are talking about the same plugs these are the ones I tried.

My frag tank has been up for about 2 years and the racks are pretty well encrusted with coralline, sponges and other assorted things. I found that turning the plugs to lock them in place made it difficult to turn them back later to release them. I didn't try the epoxy in them so maybe they will work better for you. I will let you have them cheap if you want so maybe we can work something out.
I purchase plugs in bulk from this site. Very good prices, especially if you can buy wholesale from them. I really like the different sizes and shapes that they offer.

No, it is the static cling sticker off the back of my daughter's car, I replaced her undergrad sticker w/UF College of Pharmacy sticker when she was excepted. I do understand it may raise the value significantly as you point out, but I'm willing to deal with with those consequences.

Yep Jadinop, those are the ones, so what plugs are you using? So far I have not been locking them in. Nice website, I have so much to learn about fragging still. PM me with what you want for them. I like them so far.

Thanks for the link to the propagation supplies site Jadinop.
Seamore, I had a feeling you were thinking the sticker might make the corals grow faster for you.

Well I don't think the sticker will make them grow any slower, I guess I'd have to do a side by side study to be sure. I remember mentioning a twin would fit on the same bench. The things I will do for science and research.

So I fragged a two 1" peices off of a gorgeous fuzzy green milli with yellow tips, and from a blue acro tort today. I may go after the yellow encrusting w/purple polyps monti next. I think I may like to frag them as much as growing them out. Going to track healing and growth responce to fragging to see if pruning does cause an acceleration in coral formation as a function of a healing responce.

That sounds like a good plan Seamore. I honestly think that some of my montis grow faster after being fragged than they did before that. It will be interesting to see if your results are similar.
