seahorses
well i want to start another tank and i was wondering waht i need to know about seahorses if you have any good articals i would greatly appreacate it. i also have a few questions.
first waht kinds of corals if any can i or can i not have with them i assune anything that has a bad sting is out but any others?
would a 5 flat back hex be alrignt for 2 may be 3 with a small angler? i know they are both ambush hunters so i figure they would be ok as long as the angler couldent fit the seahorse in its mouth.
What vegitation would be best in the tank with them(may be fake?)?
and what are some good feeding tip for them? types of food?

I wouldn't go with an angler. A 5 hex is too small for greater horses, IMO. Best to go with a tall tank, as opposed to a long one. AGA makes a 20 and a 30 Extra High that are good. A 25, 29 or 37 gallon are great too.
I've posted tons about seahorses here in the archives. Best to get captive raised ones, pre-trained to eat frozen Mysis shrimp, and tailor the tank to them, and them alone.
HTH

Hmmm well do you really want to hatch live brine every day? H. zostrae needs live brine as a food source, constantly. They might eat cyclopeeze but they are way too small to eat mysis. I've heard mixed results feeding frozen brine, but by and large, keepers of H. zostrae do live brine feedings daily. I only kept them for a brief time, but I fed mine live brine.
If you do go with H. zostrae, I'd advise against using any rock or substrate that might house bristleworms. While I love bristleworms for any other marine tank, I've seen them pluck dwarf seahorses right off their perches. Corals of any kind would be a definite no-no, as would be any other types of fishes. They are really that tiny.

so if i do go about this with the dwarfs i do not mind getting the brine but how would you go about getting the rock worm free? may be buy dried rock? and put some sea grass in with it? and would the seahorses eat pods?
