this is probably a question for jennm, im curious about what i would need for sea horse only tank. im thinking something on a smaller scale then the 55g reef im doing. I guess im looking for something a little different to do (on a smaller scale). i have a 10g screaming for some attention, but something tells me thats too small. any suggestions?

We almost started a horse tank, so I know a little (be nice Grasshopper ). Regular horses like tall tanks, the taller the better, but there is miniture horses that require smaller tanks, but I don't know much of anything about them. HTH

some dwarf horeses would do fine in a 10g. slow flow, and plenty of food, be aware of hydroids, if they eat them, they will die.

If you want to find out more about seahorses, I would go to www.seahorses.org

My 29g tank is cycled and after I add my remora skimmer (in the mail) I 'll order my seahorses. First off I suggest you go to www.seahorses.org & read thru all the post than post some of your own questions. They will recommend captive bred seahorses from flyingfish express & oceanrider, they guarantee live arrival & "certified free" of marine parasites. Also they are guaranted to eat frozen mysis shrimp because they are captive bred. I have 30lbs of lr w/ 2" sand bed, penquin 170 filter & powercompact smartlight 65w for some soft corals that I will add in a few months when the tank is more stable. I currently have a clean up crew in action which includes 10 nassarius snails, 5 astrea snails, 1 fighting conch & 2 pepermint shrimp. The recommended tank size is 20g or bigger but some people on the board have smaller, remember that the smaller the tank the quicker things can get out of hand and w/ seahorse's that's not good. This is my 2nd tank, first one is 75g fowlr & a bunch of inverts, so I decided to venture into the world of seahorses. Good luck & read a lot.
