I have had mine for almost 2 years. It gets stuck once in a while, but all I have to do to get it back working is turn off the return pump and turn it back on. The surge clears it, i guess. I use a MAG7. They really should make one that you can open and clean, This one is glued shut, so if something really gets stuck in there, it will be hard to get it out. They say you should use a sponge on the pump to keep it going longer, but i don't like that.
The
Hydor Flo Rotating Water Deflector works on the same principle and is easily cleaned. For $12, it's a nice little thing, but obviously, not quite the same as a scwd.
