Sclero., Dendro., Chironepthea question
Hello everyone. Recently, about 5 weeks ago, I set up a new 32 gallon cube system which I quick cycled in 2 1/2 weeks with cured live rock. I wanted to experiment with lighting on my new Neon Green Nepthea. I placed it dead center of my tank with a moderate water current and stable readings across the board. 1 drop of Lugols every 4 th day and my Phytoplankton mixture twice a week. Now here's the kicker, I ran two 18 watt blue fluorescent actinic (all blue Bulbs) on it 11 hours a day for 3 weeks. The little frag of 2 1/2 inches when I first saw it in the LFS, is now 5 inches tall and sprouting outward like crazy. Is there an explanation regarding the lighting that I'm not aware of ?
By the way, I have turned on the PC now to give it the proper lighting spectrum.
Also, will Sclero, Dendro and Chironepthea do well in captivity ?. I've theard they don't.
Is PC lighting enough or will they require VHO or MH ?
Thanks.
