Scam

Well this is my story. I've been a do it yourselfer for all of my life, If I see something I like I want to know how its built. I realy enjoy building things for myself. It gives me a sense of acomplishment and I take great care of the things i build. So with that said heres my problem. Ever since getting into fish years ago I have wanted to build my own tanks and equiptment. So like most people I researched what I needed but did not find alot of info on the subject. finaly after alot of searching I found a book for sale on the web. the book is called "Complete Guide to Building Aquariums". The add said this book covered every aspect of building aquariums, so I placed an order. Three weeks went by and no book so I sent an e-mail to the company and they said that it was there fault and the order ticket was filed out improperly. They said that the book would go out ASAP and my money would be refunded. Two more weeks and still no book so I sent another e-mail and they said that there shipping manager was just killed in an auto accident. So yet again they said they would reship the book.over the next two weeks I kept in contact through e-mail, I requested a phone number and address but no reply. Its been over two months now and no one will respond to my e-mails. I got scamed and I want revenge. Why do all the good people seem to take it in the @$$.

through a little bit of hacking I found a phone number and an adress in denver CO. If any one would like more info on this company/scam let me know.

Thank you all for listening and leting me vent a little. I guess this next project will be learn as I go. Thats o.k. , mistakes are usually the best teachers.

Thanks again

Hey Az,

Was that the one on Ebay with tons of ads showing all kinds of pics to get you to look at their auction. I emailed them and asked questions too. Didnt get the answers to my questions either.

I looked up their book on Amazon too. It is there, but it says sales are suspended.

Just what I found

Now that would be doing yourself a diservice. We have bought over 200 items on Ebay and only had one problem. The Post Office took 7 days to deliver 2 day live rock. Needless to say, it was really stinky! Insurance only covers the shipper, they get the money and if they do not forward it to you, you are screwed! The Post Master was so interested in reefs, he applied for insurance to be sent to me since the other guy would not respond.

Just read the feedback. There is also insurance from Ebay at no charge for really bad deals. You eat the first $25 I guess. All in all, Ebay has been a really good deal. You MUST do your research!

Often things are more on Ebay, (poor sellers in my opinion) you can pay more than LFS w/ shipping if you are not careful. Our MH lights were a screaming deal

Just our experience

It's been a while since I read that thread so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Basically it's a thread in which a large number of people got scammed on Ebay in a lighting deal. The guy had good feedback for some videos he was selling so most people felt they were safe buying from them. This guy was slick. If I'm not mistaken he registered on RC and posted to the thread trying to assure everyone that he wasn't scamming them. Some people in his home state went to a lot of trouble to try and get the guy but the last I heard they were un-successful.

This just goes to prove that you should buy from someone you know or a reputable vendor.
