Sailfin/Algae Blenny

This looks like an awsome fish to add to my tank, anyone ever have this type of blenny. Probably the most beautiful of all the Blennies

Blennies have lots of personality. The picture looks a lot like my Lawnmower Blenny. He is a great fish to have, loves algae.

They are wonderful animated animals! They perch on the rocks, crawl through them and when you are looking for them you notice them out of the corner of your eye watching you, looking for them. They turn their heads quizzically-just a very fun animal!

A word of caution about these guys (fwiw)...it appears to me that many of the algae blennies brought into the trade in the past few years will NOT eat prepared foods, and slowly starve as the film algae in our tanks is eaten up.

I have recently considered getting one of these magnificent creatures, but will only do so at a LFS, and only after I see the blenny eat flake or some other prepared food.

Again, this is just one man's opinion...your mileage may vary.

Fortunately, mine eats. Dosn't care too much for flake, but he does like shrimp and bloodworms.

you know when I posted this originally the LMB was doing fine but now it is running out of algae and getting skinny, I can't get him to eat any prepped foods.

I think his days are numbered unless he starts eating, lesson learned about these guys.

I HAD one, and it did eat hair algae, but one day it disappeared to never come out of hiding again. At teh time it was the biggest fish in the tank. I thought he was pretty cool looking too.
