rubbermaid hotel

how long can my fish and rock be in thier new rubbermaid hotel?

we got the stand all moved in today, and put in place. all the plumbing hooked up, and lights installed in the canopy.

i still need to wire the lights back up again, put the sand in the tank, sand in the fuge, install light in sump area, install light over fuge, not to mention mix some saltwater, and fill the darned thing.

so, needless to say, after tearing down the 55 last night, and moving the 75 in, i have NO ENERGY what so ever to do ANY more tonight.

how long can all my stuff hang out in the rubbermaid trash can? since work is tommorrow, my time available after work is gonan be fairly limited. so this may turn into a few day job to finish up.

the can currently has : 60 pounds rock - fully cycled from old tank.
two, 1 gallon pitchers filled with cc from the old tank.
1 brittle star
20 or so hermits
1 astrea snail
1 cowrie

2 aquaclear 402 ph's
1 200 wt heater
1 noflo strip light

I would think if the temp light, and circulation is ok they won't even know that they're not in their tank except that some goofy looking guy is looking at them from the top instead of the side. lol

lol thanks joel.

yeah the heater is in there, and temp is the same as when in the tank 80 deg.

it's all the water from the old tank, except for about 7 or 8 gallons wouldnt fit. same powerheads. only thing different is the sahpe of the container, and the light is lower, but that doesnt affect anything i have anyway.

my main concern was not having the sump running on it, but then again plenty of people run tanks with no sump anyway. it's got all the live rock that was in there before. i only saved the two pitchers of cc so i could maintain some of my pods to seed the new southdown dsb. i put them in pitchers so it wouldnt get all splashed around in the water and make it cloudy

thanks again!

i got up enough energy after that post to go ahead and dump the southdown in the tank and fuge. looks good. i may even wire up the lights. but no way am i attempting to fill with water tongiht! that can wait till wednesday. i might get around to filling a rubbermaid and getting some sw started and throw a pump in there with it. then pump that into the tank tommorrow, and make another batch i really wish i could jsut mix in the tank... but oh well.
