Royal Gramma

I have had a royal gramma for about a week and a half and was doing great. but all of a sudden hes stopped eating. He used to eat everything i putin the tank, mysis shriomp, pellets, flake, squid. but two days ago he stopped eating, he swims up to the food like hes going to eat it then ignores it. I also noticed that around his face his scales are starting to peel off. and his tale is kinda ripped. my water perameters are great, ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 0, salinity is at 1.023, temp is 76-77. theres not ick. In fact aside form the eating he seems to be doing great. I just noticed today that he ventured away from his favorite hiding spot in the rock and is very active. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

huh, must be something else then. I had a butterfly that was getting picked on by my tang (no one told me they weren't compatible) and he behaved very much like what you described.

Really wish i could give advice about this as i've had my RG for nearly the same amount of time, the only question i've got is has he got plenty of caves in the rock to hide away from everything?? i've had mine for nearly a week and he spends most of the time in caves in the rock

Maybe stress from exposure??

Matt

Has he gone back to his favorite hiding spot? I wonder if a hitchiker has taken it over...?
