Rose Bubble anemone
I've had my rose bubble for 7 months and it has always fully expanded a few times a week. Also it has remained stationary. The last week, it has started to move around a bit. It has now secured itself underneath a rock overhang with only a few tentacles hanging out. Since these highly covet light, why is it not positioning itself for full light distribution. It is in the lower level of the tank and lighting is 3x65w 10k, 3x65w actinic, 3x150w hqi 15K. Water quality is dead on and calcium reactor is running. Additives include moly/stront & iodine. I usually feed it every 3 days, or twice a week. Silversides. Is this thing going through some change?

Mine also finds a spot under the rock where the light is sparse! What is up with that?

I don't think anyone knows why they move to darkness from time to time. Mine will do the same thing. It moves back after a few days.

Sounds like a part of their life. I didn't know if it was going to split, needed more food, didn't like the scenery, etc. I'd be the last person to try and manually relocate one, for fear of harming their base. Then they're goners.

I've never been stung but they are definitely sticky if they are healthy.

Sometimes they hide to split,.. sometimes they just decide to go for a walk,..

Sticky as in you just can't get them off your hand. Never had a painful sting. I've heard it can be unpleasant.

some people are more reactive to it than others, btas don't bother me - but a Ritteri anemone got me but GOOD one time, whole forearm was a rash.
As for finding a darker spot, like was said, there is not much you can change to keep it from doing what it wants. If it is healthy you don't need to worry about it. How big is it btw? you probably don't need to be feeding so often - once a week is more than sufficient, esp. with that lighting you have listed.
fwiw, one technique people have used to encourage a split is to go from regular, frequent feedings to a couple without any feedings.
