Hey guys! Happy *onday to all you folks working today :P (I got the day off

)

Anyways, my rose anenome we purchased at the big sale at our LFS has grown from about 3-4 inches across to about 1 foot tall and 7-8 inches across...is this normal? I know some of them split, but how can you tell? It looked yesterday like it was trying to but it didn't. We asked the folks at the LFS their opinion and they said we were feeding it way too much (he eats some krill almost every day, steals food from the fish as we're feeding, and then the clowns feed it as well). They recommended we feed it only once a month since the clowns are hosting. Anyone have any thoughts?

Do you think it is possible that maybe the anemone was that big in the store? I think since anemones are like soft corals in that they utlize water intake to adjust their size - your anemone may have been big all along but has finally gotten "comfortable" enough in your tank to fully expand.

I say if you have an anemone that you are lucky enough to be getting to grow - don't change anything. If it wants to split it will. I know several people have had their "rosies" split. But since anemones are hard to keep - I say if it makes him/her happy - keep feeding! (The only thing about feeding tho is that waste and phosphates can go up in your tank).

Well hello Mrs's, nice to know perry is not glued to the key board

since the clowns are feeding it, then you should not have to spot feed it ..but since you have been feeding it and so has the water and the clowns if you cut back too much it could make him want to get someone in the tank..
kinda "i'm used to eat this well so i will still do it "
they will split when they want to. not sure if you can help it along.. usally can see a line running up the base.. sounds like a nice happy big bugger!

Thanks for the info guys!! It's definitely gotten larger since we got him from the LFS...guess we'll go on as we have been feeding him so he doesn't start drooling over the clowns...
