Rose Anemone Split!
In the excitement of having the new Grandson, I fotgot to post this on the 11th.
My Rose Anemone had been acting kind of strange, moved for the FIRST time EVER from its location up under some rock where it could extend into the light and current, STOPPED FEEDING, and made me suspect that it might be splitting. I returned from the hospital to pick up a few things, looked into the display tank and saw this before leaving, snapped a few pix with the cheapo digital camera (I've learned that if you bracket the focal length with several exposures, at least ONE of the pix will be OK...)
OF COURSE this happens while I am not here to take pix... ...even with a FILM camera...
So now I am a new Granddaddy AND a Daddy!

That is sweet. What type of lights do you have them under?

Three XM 250 watt 10kK mogul bulbs with Spyder reflectors on Icecap electronic ballasts. They usually get fed once a week with a krill/zooplanktonn mix (big stuff, not microscopic stuff). Amazingly enough, the mother colony stopped eating for about two weeks prior to the split, and although the mother was quite large, the daughters do not make up for the total volume (yet) of the mother colony (unless there is another daughter somewhere in the tank).

That's great! I'm just now, finally, able to keep one living over a year. Couldn't do it for the life of me, since the 80's, until I converted my setup to 'free-flow'.

I cannot get the pic to show of the second daughter, but there is definitely one in the dark recesses of this rock between the two showing in the photos here. It is right underneath the colony to the left in the rock crack. I will try and get a better picture when the two separate more (or the third comes out into the light... )
