Rolling out the red,{er,blue} carpet for workers this 'Labor Day'

I'd like to salute the working class, pillar of strength and backbone of the United States.
To those that must work with an increasingly heavy load- the "lucky ones"- may you have the strength to accomplish your tasks.
To those that have been 'downsized',layed off, or are in the midst of a career change- you are in our prayers.May you be fortunate enough to improve upon your situation.
And may all of us find some time to spend with the ones we love.

Cool

Great sentiments, especially as I'm sitting in my office, working right now. At least I have a job that pays the bills.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend, alas, summer has come and gone for another year now.

Thanks for the kind words, all. uurt, It is for this exact reason I started this thread. My wife must work each day this weekend.
And I was hoping to cheer her up! {She loves to laugh at some of these threads!}
But as I sat and thought of it, I realized that many people are in this same boat- or WORSE.
Sometimes it's a darn struggle just to have dinner together- even on a holiday !

As for the passing of summer,I'm not letting go just yet.Even though we usually close the pool this weekend,I am keeping it open for a couple more weeks to get in a few more swims.
Hope your day at the office goes quickly and smoothly, uurt. Best Wishes, Gary

I really appreciated the kind words. means a lot to those of us that do have to work weekends. Sometimes some people don't realize, the world still spins, lives still unfold, and YES, it really does continue on the weekends. I do have one consolation though, i get mon-wed off each week!

Hear, Hear for the working class!

And thank you to those who went before us that struggled to make the work place safe and profitable.

Work still isn't my preferred choice of careers but hey, it gets me out of the house.

Enjoy the weekend everyone and travel safe!

Alice
