Rocks and shells ?

im fraging out some xeina being that i have forests of it now and i would like to know if it has to be done on rock or can i use shells also. by the way this stuf is pungent. im going to trade frags with fish guru at the pet place. this is by far the cheapest way to get more coral.

LOL Steve, Xenia is a little pungent. I've seen Xenia attached to snail and ex-snail shells (worn by hermits) happily pulsing away while the snail or hermit maneuvered about the tank. I don't think Xenia is very picky about where it attaches

I agree with Alice. If you are going to be using your own rock then put it on the cheapest stuff you can find. When you run out of small rocks to attach it to go to the LFS and buy a couple of pieces of dry base rock. They will probably cost you a couple of dollars each. Have at it with a hammer and you will have lots and lots of small rocks to attach frags to. You should be able to recover the cost of the base rock with just one or two frags and you will end up with enough rocks for many more frags.
