RO question

When I hooked up my RO unit, i put a brass valve betwee the water main and the unit. Would the RO filter out any copper that would leak into the water? I live in an old building that prolly has copper pipes anyway...gotta love detroit...Anyone have any insight?
Thanks
-Chris

yes, definitely. Many of the units have a dissolved solids meter on them, if you want to test yours, look for a level that drops the tds below 17 mcSm (microseimens) if you are worried about copper. Actually, most of the copper will be removed by the ro membrane even well after the level of the effluent rises far above the 17 mcSm level.

Hope this helps,

Its OK!

The concern for this is intended for after the RO or RO DI where the water has become very agressive (acidic) and has a higher tendency to leach the metalics back into the water.

Your OK, But if your teeth start turning green you might want to switch it to plastic.............

Just kidding

Take care
