RO Membrane Help

WHen I was about the change my DI cartridges last night I tested the RO (Only) water. It was at 60 TDS. After the DI it was 68 TDS. I know the DI is spent but the RO only at 60 TDS will make the DI cartridges last about a week.

I have an aquaticreefsystems 75 GPD unit with what I believe is an adjustable flow restrictor. I have it set for a 5:1 ratio of waste water:ro water.

My tap water has very high silicates as well.

I need to replace my RO membrane.

Any recomendations? How should I set this up? Is there a better unit that I should get?

That is your problem, if you replace your membrane you will still have high TDS. Check out pre filters made specifically for high silicates.

I have not seen any Pre-filters for Hi silicates. There is a RO membrane that has an advertised HI silicate removal but the DI will still get burned up very fast.
