RO/DI monitor problems

Just wondering if any other folks have had as much trouble with the little battery operated RO/DI monitors supplied by Kent.

I've had two of them and after a few months of seemingly normal operation, both began giving me patently bogus results. Like my tap water is darn near "lab grade" and the stuff coming out of my RO/DI unit (less than 6 months old) with a fresh set of cartridges in it is giving me what amounts to tap water.

I don't mind if the thing leads me to change cartridges a bit prematurely. They aren't that expensive. But when it tells me "bad "water is good, it makes me want to just junk the things and depend on a rigorously kept maintenance schedule.

Mainly I'm just wondering if others have had similar experiences with these things and if there's a more reliable alternative that isn't too pricey.

Regards,
Bert

Hey Bert!

Do some searching. I seem to remember this being answered in a round about way some time ago.

Bill,

Searched for "RO/DI" and "monitor" and "conductivity" and "Kent" and just about every other keyword I could think of even remotely connected to the issue. I found this thread and one other announcing a sale in So. CA -- that's it.

I did turn up some info on PinPoint's conductivity monitor, but it's (quite) a bit more than I want to spend just to keep track of my RO/DI cartridges.

Regards,
Bert
