RO/DI carbon block

How do you know that it is time to change out the carbon block in an RO/DI unit?

Exclamation

Hook up your imput line to your carbon block, then get a low level chlorine test kit and the out put line must be conected to the output of the carbon block and then check the level of chlorine coming out of the output!! if it's more than 1.10 parts per, million it's time to change!!
Brent.

I would advise you to test your water like brent said, however, in our area, I usually find the need to replace the carbon block every 3 months or so while I produce about 10 gallons per week.

I just do it every 6 months, but I don't think there is much chlorine in my tap water.

Its probably overkill, but we live nearthe city, and city water is known to be bad sometimes, so I replace it often to be safe.
