You want to go with a 75GPD unit instead of the 100GPD units. You will remove more garbage from the water using the 75GPD unit. I would stay away from a RO/DI that was that inexpensive. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

In my opinion, I would get one with a storage tank. I have one from this company ( http://cgi.ebay.com/AQUA-SAFE-100GPD...QQcmdZViewItem) and I think it does well...I got the one with all the bells and whistles ( http://cgi.ebay.com/AQUA-SAFE-MAXIMU...QQcmdZViewItem), but I think the basic one with the tank would work for you.
The reason I like the storage tank is, if you need some water in a pinch you have about 4 gallons right away.
BTW, I use mine for drinking water and ice from my freezer.

That's what I plan to do also, to help mediate the cost to the wife, but she is complaining about the waste water also. Not that we pay tons for water to begin with, and depending where I hook it up, I coudl recycle it for the garden.

Where is it frank, if you are near a drain pipe you can hook it into that.
Luckily if I put mine in the basement the tank is right next to my french drain, if I go under sink I plumb it to the drain.
If you are near a window or a wall you could drill a hole and run it out to a rain barrel.

Mine is actually right in my laundry room above my work sink. Right now my waste is run into the sink and down the old drain...I could run it to my washer but I am not sure how that would work out (I guess I could catch the water in a 5 gal pail and use it for laundry).
Any other suggestions?

I know have the typhoon from www.airwaterice.com and I can see a big difference.
