Ro/di

I need an RO/DI unit. My old house had great water from the Finger Lakes...never needed it. New house has terrible water, based on all the algae in my tank.

I have no idea what kind to get. Any recommendations?

This is the one I got...it has been very good...comes with everything you need including lots of filters to keep you going for a few years.

Also...where are you in NY?

I'm in Rochester right now, but not for much longer...I'm in the process of moving to Ann Arbor, MI. Thanks for the recommendation.

Is $200 what I should expect to pay, or can I get something cheaper?

You can get cheaper...this one just includes about $80 worth of filters and other stuff...it has a TDS meter, a pressure meter, a storage tank...etc...

You can get units for about $100 to $125. In fact here is the bare bones one from the same company...just comes without all the extra stuff...only $109.00

I know there has been a lot of discussion on here about some others...do a search on RO-DI and you will find LOTS!!!

Good luck on the move...

That also has $55 in shipping...if you don't need all the extras a bunch of people here recommended the Typhoon from www.airwaterice.com, I just got the $150 one ($180 w/ shipping, etc), and it is pretty nice. They have one for $200 that comes with all the extra stuff (gauge, float valve, etc) and they were helpful when I called them up really confused about how it worked (altho that was b/c they sent the wrong instruction manual).
