Right Way/Wrong Way
Am I off the wall-I know I'm sitting here with a Bottle (big) of Baileys, but I keep seeing people asking about the right way of doing things...the longer I'm doing this, well, I'm finding other than the correct way of electricity/plumbing, correct water chemistry, really anything goes...the question is does it work, and what works for one reefer and their tank may be completely different from another reefer and the same tank. Is what I'm suggesting hoey or do you think there's some truth in there somewhere?

yes you are correct in that thinking.
Each persons tank is different, each tank will react a little differantly to each thing that one does to it.

I agree also. More often than not there are several solutions to any problem. What I think that people are more often asking is whether they are on the right track toward a solution that will work, trying to get reasurance that it will or is working. At least this is how I am.

I agree - the "right" way can be tempered by budget, experience, space available, what resources are available (i.e. how close is the LFS?), etc. Lots of choices and lots of "right" ways to do the same thing. But this forum is terrific because you can learn other people's "right" ways and find alternatives for your own situation!

I just want to DISAGREE as we all are agreeing and contradicting the point that everyone's setup is DIFFERENT w/ different solutions!!!

I think you really need to find out what works for you and your tank.

i tell my girl friend all the time... " you would be right all the time if you just agree with me"
but yes viv, there are a million ways to make a tank work. most people try to give advice for the easiest way, or the way that has worked best in the past. but new ideas come out every day. so who knows....
