Ricordia, ricordia yuma? What is the difference?

Hey all, just wondering what the differences between ricordia and ricordia yuma are?

Also, I've seen places online that list ricordia as a low to moderate light mushroom. Is this true, I've heard the opposite (high light) mentioned on TRT several times and in the archives?

i've read that the darker colored ricordias, like blues and greens, only do well under floros, metal halides can cause these to shrink, rather than expand, and wither away.

ricordia yuma is from the pacific, ricordia floridia is from the atlantic.

ok, that's what I thought. So Yuma are from the caribbean, and the "regular" stuff is from the atlantic.

Do the regular ricordias do well on 50/50? I have 24w on my 12g nano and was wondering if I could keep ricordia and have it do ok? I figured I couldn't do yuma, but that some of the lower light ricordia (if there is such a thing?) might be ok in my tank? Thanks for the replies.

no, the ricordia yuma is from the pacific ocean. the ricordia floridia is from the atlantic ocean.
btw, the caribbean sea is part of the atlantic ocean and gulf of mexico.

I have a nano cube as well and I will say yes you can keep them, but keep the more colorful ones twords the top. My bi color rics have kinda faded due to lower light. Rics really love actinic light so if you can add another 24 watt to that hood and just do a 10,000 K bulb, and then an Actinic you will be very happy with the results.

There are alot of corals that you can keep in the cube, it all depends on where you place them. let me know if I can help you with more stuff on your cube.
