ribbon eel??

I have recently seen one in a LFS that was maybe 2 or 2 1/2 feet long, anyway it looks amazing!!!!!! and its only 50bucks. I have read that these are very delicate and most dont survive in the home aquarium. If it eats then it should survive right? or at least have a petty good chance, correct? I think there are more the one species of ribbon eel, the one im talking about is blue with gold lines. so any help would be appreciated on whether to, or not too get it ,as well as any info supporting either of them, thanx in advance.

I think they are really good escape artists

They are difficult to feed, but I've heard of a few people getting them to adapt. Problem is, when they are blue, they are 'terminal male'... near the end of their lifespan.

IMO not a good choice.

there are two species the ghost and the blue/black/yellow ribbon eels. like Jenn was alluding to earlier they are all different sexes of the same species.

they are extremely good escape artist. prolly second only to the octopus. they are also difficult to get to eat. if you are able to get them to eat than most of the problem is solved.
