return pump size

I need recommendations for what size return pump to get. I'm pretty set on the Mag drive pumps so that I can put it in the sump.

Anyway, here is the setup.. Lifereef overflow (they rate those at 700gph) down 1" pvc which will split and goto the sump and refrugium. water will do its thing there, then be sent back up via the mag drive.. I believe magdrive 700 is 1/2" threaded... so maybe i would step that up to 3/4".. up ~4 feet of flexible 3/4" tubing, then a two 90deg' turns over the edge of the tank and back in.

So, with 4 foot head.. and those 90deg turns in there.. will the mag-drive 700 be enough? or should i go with the 950?

Also, its a 40 gallon main tank and a 20 gallon sump which will probably only be half full when all the pumps are running. I don't plan on having SPS ever in this tank so a huge amount of flow isn't necesary.

Thanks!!!
-John

The Mag 9 will prolly work, but why not do the Mag 12 and put a valve on it. Should be close and if you upgrade thats good for a while
