return plumbing-how much gph-what pump?

A few questions. Which pump would you run in my situation? Amp Master 3000, 2700, 2100, or other. How many gph should I have flowing from sump to tank and back? Sump is a 50 gal rubbermaid tub. Tank is a Oceanic 120 RR with dual overflows, each with with a 1" drain. How much head pressure will this set up give me? Ball valves, check valves, and unions are not illustrated in the diagram.

The rule of thumb is usually about 10X the tank. I have a 90 gal and I have a mag 12 return(1200 gph) with a sray bar down the back and side. With you splitting the returns to the tank like that you are going to have to have a more powerful pump. I am not familiar with those pumps but I would probably use a pump with a rating of 1800 gph or so. It is always better to over do it with the pump b/c you can always us a ball valve to restrict water flow.

Just my 2 cents
