I have a friend who use Tropic Marine Pro reef and so far none of his salt came up so clumped that he had to break them...
I'm thinking that "clumped" may not have been the proper word to use. That makes it seem like there were large chunks and that's not the case. It was more like one solid piece. I more or less had to scrape it out with the measuring cup. It wasn't difficult at all, I'm just trying to give a full report of everything that I've noticed. It certainly wouldn't hinder my decision to use it.

i use tropic marin, i am switching to it from IO cause i've heard such good things and off course IO isn't the best salt in the world..

I was amazed to see that the "salt" is almost a powder and dissolves very fast.... almost as powdery as flour... i need a good alk tester... is alk same as hardness??

I thought alk was the waters ability to maintain PH... the higher the better but i guess not to high...

Here's another question, someone here said it takes less Tropic Marin to mix the same salinity as IO. It takes 2.5 cups for 5 gallons for IO, does it only take 1.75 cup for Tropic Marin for 5 gallons of water? I read this at www.reeftraders.org but wanted to see if anyone else can confirm it; cause that may be worth the extra price if you only need to use less of the salt to make the same amount of water.

Even though it may be true, I don't think it's a fair assumption. TM appears to be much more dense that IO. The 200 gal bucket is smaller (and weighs more) than the 160 gal IO. So yes you're getting 40 more gallons from TM, but I wouldn't base that on the volume measurement. I'd say base it on gal/$ if that's what the deciding factor is.
