Replacing Live Rock

Maybe it's just me but I've been having to replace my live rock from time to time. In the last year or so...I must have added what I believe to be at least 40 lbs on top of 60+ (my tank is only 55 gallons). Does anyone here have that problem? I kind of attribute mine to the number of rock-coring hitch-hikers, a bunch of hermits, some snails, maybe even some corals that are propogating themselves onto the rock...perhaps even sally lightfoot. It's a pain having to cure live rock all the time only to see them turned into live substrate.

It's a mixture...some from Fiji; some Tonga. That's it. I like Fiji but it cost more. Even curing it myself doesn't curve the cost enough. Most of my rock is covered with coralline and corals so it's hard to make out. I'll take some pictures of my little reef and post it.

What makes you think the rock is dissolving or disappearing? Do you have DSB? Is it just settling into the sand?
