Glad to hear that Rick is spot free! If you've got any porous objects in the tank, rock or substrate, it can hold the copper for a long time. QT's are best with a bare bottom, some PVC or plastic pots for hiding spaces and a
sponge filter that was cured in your main tank or sump for dentrification. If you don't have a sponge filter and used rock instead, I'd take most of the rock out, do waterchanges.
I'd leave Rick in the QT for a minimum of six weeks to be on the safe side. As Horge said, failsafe is 72 days and that's almost 10 weeks. It's a bummer, I know.
