Removed DSB - What to do with sand?

Well, In my to-be sump tank,
I just removed the good ol' Southdown mess.

Wasn't too skanky - at least at the top. Only running for under 6 months, so only minor low-tide smell once I got past the first 1".

[Need tank for my prop setup's sump ....]

Anyway - now I have 2 5 gallon buckets of wet southdown.

How to dispose of it? Heavy, wet, gross ... seems a little much to just toss in the trash, but I'd imagine the salts would kill any ground I put it on ... so what to do with it?

Thanks!

mark

Good question!

I have no clue. How about for ice on the driveway?

Great idea!

Though heavy and taking up space at the moment ....
[I'm sure that's the only thing in my house doing that ]

Wish there was a suitable beach to contribute it to nearby ... but unless I'm driving down to go diving with you ... no luck.

Just trade it at your local fish store, unless you already killed the bacteria just call them up and ask them if they will take it. if that doesn't work I'm sure you could give it to some other member in you area.

Good Luck

If you like to throw horse-shoes make a horse-shoe pit!
