do you think the skimmer box for the remora's hinders performance.
I know the idea of
surface skimming but my skimmate productions is way down since adding the overflow box.
I've had it going for 3-4 weeks now.
I only have 4 fish in a 55 but I'm trying to reduce a HA problem due to poor husbandry.
So I'm skimming wet but don't get much.
Also, most of the rock is gone due to the cooking process.
I do get a light dusting of algae on the front glass every few days and I've been doing 35% water changes weekly with RO/DI.
Should i lose the skimmer box for now on the 55?
I'm also having the same problem in my 25...i added the skimmer box and skimmate production went down.
There are no algae problems in this tank...hardly any but there is no other means of filtration--so I should ditch the skimmer box on the 25 for sure, right?
Both tanks are BB.
