remora aqua c

got a remora protein skimmer that was tested in the store a few days worked great on their reef tank. i got a brand new saltwater tank i hooked it up and it seems to be over producing bubbles and the collection cup fills with water way to quickly. is this because the tank is brand new and theres nothing for it to skim yet (i got no live rock and no creatures yet)

Mine did that.

Just raise the cup to the highest point and it will simmer down.

Now mine is at the lowest level and produces an almost black simmmate.

It takes a bit, but hang in there

It will simmer down. Resist the urge to overcompensate up and down with the flow. They are so touchy. I had the same problem when my tank was new. It would be acting strangly and I would adjust and find it swing the other way. Give it time.

With nothing in the tank, there's no protein to skim. It will push a lot of liquid.

How big is your tank? I owned a remora once.......never again. I hope your tank is small
