Hello everyone,
I have been out of the hobby for about year now, {not related to but was just after the big "rio meltdown' period} And the bug seems to be comming back. Currently I have a 125g semi planted fresh, but its only going to last untill I save enough to convert it

So just where is the coffe pot in this joint?

Having experience in fresh water is a good start as it gives you some of the basics in keeping an aquairum. As Johnny said, reading is a great place to start, in fact, you have found a great place to read. Just browse the shelves and pull off whatever you like. Ask questions as you want, and we'll all try to help.

As for the coffee pot... was it Jerel or Rick O that was washing it? Being a tea drinker, I stay away from it, myself.

How did you have your tank set up before and what did you keep? What are you thinking about doing differently this time, if anything?

Just a word of caution, if you've used meds in your FW tank, there may be some problems with eliminating it from the surface of the tank. Copper based meds can actually be adsorbed by the glass.
