refugium more fun than the display tank?

I spend more time checking out my 20 gallon refugium than the main tank. I have four types of Caulerpa growing, snails, micro hermits, worms, ministars and amphipods crawling all over the place.

I am hoping that I can get my red algae (Gracilaria tikvahiae) to grow

the kids and their friends seem to love watching the refugium more than the tank too. They howl in laughter at the antics of the amphipods. I cant seem to find the humor but they think its funny. Hey, they could be doing worse ya know??

I like to lay on the floor and watch my refugium with my cat. I see so much going on in there and to me it will be one of the first things to tell me if something is up with the tank I need to check into.

I put a few pieces of flake food in the sand and I watch the stampede. The snails come out of the sand, the hermits and amphipods leap frog over each other and they all end up in a big pile of motion on top of the flakes.
