F&M I know a little about them from what I understand they are pretty difficult they like low light and like to be hung upside down. I'm sure the more experience reefers will chime in with more info

I believe they are totally filter feeders and very difficult to maintain.

I have one that is in a cave, pretty dark and opens every nite and as soon as the actinics turn on it will closed. I have had it for some time now a year or so. The thing when open is about 3 or 4 times larger then when closed. It's not hung upside down, I think it is the carnations that like to be hung upside down.

sorry, no direct experience with that particular coral. i would be interested in more info on them if what SeaCrop says is true. i have a couple of areas where that would be perfect if in fact it is hardy.

During the day they don'T look so hot, they bend over and get small, I think alot of people think they are dead way before they are, They open at night and are very nice looking,

They seem to be hit or miss as far as survival. I couldnt find the secret to keeping them happy, and seems like most that have tried them here over the years havent either, thats not to say it cant be done, but its not an easy one to keep

By night it looks like the following pic. By day, it looks like a piece fo cherry gum thrown on the ground.
It is one of the few things that i target feed on a regular basis. Every week or two i feed it blender mush at n ight when open. Ive had it for about a year and a half. I almost killed it and it shrunk to half its size becasue i wasnt feeding it. I have it on the sand of my reef under a ledge out of direct light.
This pic is prolly 6-7 months old......i need to take another one now that i have my new camera : )

How long have you had it?? Mine looked fine for about 8 months of getting it and not feeding it...then it just started to slowly whither away and stopped opening up at night......it did come back rather quickly though after bombarding it with food
