I like the martin moe books
Begginer to Breeder ISBN-10: 0939960079
The Marine Aquarium Reference: Systems and Invertebrates ISBN-10: 0939960052
both books are a little dated however there is a lot of basic information written in plain english (you don't have to be a biologist to understand)
I have several titles on the books page tom has posted which all contain valueable information.

I would venture that 99% of them have good solid information in them. If there is one in particular you are curious about, you can ask about it. The book page in the first link, I have about half of those books myself and love every one of them.

Joyce Wilkerson's Clownfish book. If you have any interest in clownfish breeding or just clownfish in particular, this book is a must have.

I've read, Reef secrets, The conscientious Marine Aquarist, The Marine Aquarium Handbook. They may be good for beginners (which I am) but I felt they all brushed over things too quickly, and tend to be too optimistic.
i.e. Reef Secrets claims that a well balanced home Aquarium can do with only 5-10% water changes a year! I'm still trying to find someone who will agree with that... But more importantly and frustrating, is they make this claim and only give you a taste of what is necessary to accomplish this eternal bubble!
I recently purchased, (should be here any day now) Deelbek and Sprung's The Reef Aquarium Vol3. It was highly praised in the forums, so I hope it gives me more of what I'm looking for.
The other books are fine, good reads, Reef Secrets has a handy fish+reef compatibility in the back, but it is seriously incomplete. But what so you want for $30...
