receding flesh on SPSs ??? (pics)

some of the "flesh" is receding on 3 of my SPSs - green slimmer, pink milli, blue hydno.
it is receding starting from the tips and the polyps aren't opening. it is getting worse.
it started when i was messing with my flow paterns over a few days. by the time i noticed, 3 pieces that had been getting blasted/ripped with flow were effected.
there is a web like slime on some of the milli.
no other corals are showing any change and there has been no changes in any of the parameters during these days.
as soon as i noticed i cut the flow in half. i have 2 tunze nanostream 6025's in a 60g tall which are now on 30 minute timers that alternate.

too much flow?
will the "flesh" grow back?
how much is too much or too little?
could it be something else all together?

they say there is never to much flow but I notice when I blast a acro with a seio 2600 the pe isnt the same? Mabe its to much flow at one time to sudden....If they didnt have much flow then you blasted them it may have stressed them out.

someone please help!!!

i dont know what to do and i dont know if im making the situation better or worse!!!

the nano stream was accedentaly pointed streight at the slimmer. the milli and hydno were getting blasted from flow bounced of the glass, but in a 60 g tall, the tank is narrow so even off the glass dosnt provide much dispersion.
like i said - now i have the pumps alternating, but now i feel like there is not enough flow.
should i leave the flow low while the 3 corals heal?
will they heal?
will my other corals suffer with lower flow?
if it wasnt the flow , what could it be?
why only 3 corals?(i have other accros and millis , ect...)

what are the signs of too much flow(on SPSs)?polyps closing up?
what are the signs of too little flow?

I dont know that there are any immediate signs of too little flow, unless the coral has "slimed" and it hasnt been removed. I think in the long run, however, coral health will decline (if it needs high flow) and possible death to follow.

too much flow can be obvious, though. Coral flesh can be removed from the skeleton, which may be the case here. If you did remove some of the coral flesh, cut back the flow and leave it alone for a few weeks. It will take time to recover (maybe even a few months), but mostly likely it will recover. I accidently placed a birdsnest right in front of the business end of my return, but after a few weeks it's looking as good as ever.

Really you've just got to play around with placement of powerheads and returns to find the medium (especially if you've got a lot to start with). In my 58 gallon tank, I have a Tunze 6100, and it took a while for me to find a place to put it that didnt negatively affect any coral.

Theoretically no, but if you've got corals 3 inches from the output, then I'm sure it's bad news.

ive seen scubas tank and i can say that i believe they were getting direct flow but i wouldnt say they were 3" from the output.

could it be that flow is not the culprit here?

what is the web like slime on the milli? you can sort of see it in the first picture.
should i give it more flow to blow the slime away? should i just turkey baste it every few hours?
look at the pic of the tall skinny green slimmer - the "flesh" is so thin as compaired to 2 weeks ago!

I had a green slimer with a ph pointing right at it and the only thing that happen is it grew away from the flow. Check all your levels do a water change. Maybe the coral just wants to die who knows how old it is .

based on the pics, is it possible that it has nothing to do with the flow and scuba is dealing with some kind of bug/worm problem?(the coral didnt appear to have any sign of being "eaten")
or RTN or STN(which i know nothing about other than what ive read on TRT).
or something we are not thinking of at all?
